Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount will initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are expected, with the company intending to reveal all specifics via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Prior news stated the firm was looking to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, the organization had nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
